Future DS Challenges

Get Involved!

There's no doubt in my mind I could come up with topics and prizes from now until the end of time, but I really have no idea what people want to learn. If most people want to focus on modeling and I start a challenge that has no modeling, how does that help any? Some people want a little push and I'd like to get the most out of it by choosing the right topics. So, if you have an idea for a future contest to get you a little bit of motivation, let me know! Also if there is a certain Blender book, training DVD, or whatnot that you would like, I'm listening.

Sponsoring and Donations

While I can afford to offer a book or DVD every few months as a prize, I think I would be awesome if there are bigger prizes. So, I came up with a couple of ideas to remedy that.

Sponsoring:

Are you a Blender book author? DVD Tutorial maker? Or maybe you want to promote your Blender site? I'd like to give you a chance to get the word out about what you have to offer to the community by offering it or something else as a prize. You get everyone who is interested in the DS Challenge to see your work and the publicity that goes along with it. Just send me a message if you are interested and we can talk about how you could be a part of the next DS Challenge.

Donations:

I hate asking for donations and the thought of asking people to 'buy me a beer' makes me squirm in discomfort. However, I feel it would be really awesome if a bunch of people were willing to put a little bit into a pot that could go towards getting more or bigger prizes. If the DS Challenge becomes popular enough, the combination of sponsoring and donations could make for some pretty enticing packages of prizes. If anyone thinks this is a good idea, I'd like to know and I might start one up.

Ok, Let's hear it!
