My name is Justin and I am 20 years old and the owner and creator of the Dark Scarab and the Imantu website. I am currently a college student at UW and I got my AA degree at the end of the summer of '09. Right now I am focusing on my computer science major. Outside of college, much my time is spent creating works that are shown on this site as well as performing general maintenence on it and Imantu. I really enjoy creating computer generated graphics and web design and development. Blender 3D is currently my top tool for my works but I also use Photoshop Elements 3. I first started posting my works on the internet in November 2007 (JB Graphics) which is the same time I started to pick up web development. After a few months I decided I would start fresh a new site with my own domain name. After about a month of struggling to find a new name (every form of JB Graphics was taken...) I eventually settled with Dark Scarab in May of 2008.

As many of you have probably noticed, I also write many tutorials on my site. I didn't start that until after I had completed my F-22 animation and someone asked me to do a tutorial on Clouds. After doing so and seeing the feed back I got from it I felt that I should write more. I really feel good when I find that one of my tutorials has really helped someone accomplish their own work. I also pride myself in trying to make the tutorials available to everyone. This is why I have PDF's and videos along with the plain web page.
