My name is Justin Brown and I am 21 years old and I currently run both Dark Scarab and Imantu.com. Dark Scarab began in early 2008 as a replacement to my first freebie website, then called JB Graphics. I wanted a place of my own where I could post the 3D renders and other artwork as well as the tutorials I had begun writing at the time. It also gave me a chance to actually build my own website, which I was very interested in doing at the time. Now I have added a blog portion to the site about all the things I find interesting, including web development, Blender 3D, new technology, and even a sprinkle of my personal life.

Why 'Dark Scarab'?
To my surprise, I have been asked quite a bit about how the name of the site came about. Basically, it all came down to finding a domain name that I liked. Initially, I spent a good portion of time trying to find some variation of JB Graphics. However, my initials aren't exactly uncommon, so I eventually gave up on that. Then I started typing whatever came to mind into Firefox to see if I would find something I could take. Well, having recently watched The Mummy, I had that on my mind and I eventually settled with Dark Scarab. So yes, my site name was inspired by swarms of flesh eating beetles.
